Wild Oyster Project is all about working together as a community of oyster lovers to restore wild oysters to the San Francisco Bay.

We need your help! To volunteer, please fill out the form below and also subscribe to our volunteer calendar to learn more about future events and volunteer opportunities.

Current volunteer needs:

• Volunteers (Shell Runners) willing to collect oyster shells for recycling! These individuals will collect buckets from restaurants and drop them off at one of our shell curing sites at Bay Natives Nursery in SF or REAP Climate Center in Alameda depending on the restaurant’s location

• Volunteers (Education Ambassadors) that are able to educate the public and represent us through tabling events, meetings, socials etc.

• Individuals and groups to be community scientists – helping measure and monitor oysters. We are also able to host corporate events if interested.

• Volunteers that can lend land for curing and storing recycled oyster shell

  We’re a small organization so feel free to offer up any skills you think could be of use to us! This could be grant writing, fundraising, legal experience, graphic design, etc
